2-Day Small Group Instruction

Level 1

Minimum of 3 riders, maximum of 8

Semi-private instruction is the next best way for you to get what you need out of training. There are fewer students, which allows for more attention towards each student and we can cover more in a shorter time period, not to mention, you get more practice time!

The small group training sessions will be more structured, but can still be tailored to fit the group as a whole.

For off-street training, I use the D.A.R.T. (Dragoo Adventure Rider Training) curriculum, which operates on the premise that there are four cornerstones to safe and successful adventure riding:

 • Balance.    • Control     • Judgment     • Attitude

The D.A.R.T curriculum has been proven effective in helping riders improve their skills and in changing habits to allow them to safely and efficiently conquer rough terrain. Following your training, you will discover that any one of these cornerstones can get you through almost any situation you might encounter during your adventures. A complete breakdown of each cornerstone and its particular value is provided in your training sessions.

In Level 1, I begin by teaching the basics of balance and control before progressing on up the scale of exercises. It’s a stair step approach as everything builds from one step to the other. You can’t miss a step, and the better you learn the early steps, the faster you’ll master the more difficult skills. Bike setup, body position, peg weight steering and discussions about the philosophy behind each element are important parts of your training. Exercises are cumulative and comprehensive. Trying to accomplish higher level skills without a strong foundation from Level 1 is frustrating at best and often leads to unnecessary falls and possible injuries. The class format is designed for students to get a lot of repetition and time to develop the skills needed.

All dual sport bikes are welcome from street legal dirt bikes to the larger ADV bikes.

$695        2 - 6 hour days

1-Day Small Group Instruction

Level 2

Minimum of 3 riders, maximum of 6

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that all riders go through the Level 1 prior to attending the Level 2 training. Whether you’ve been off-street riding for many years or you’re just getting back into riding, start with the Level 1 course first. This will ensure that you have the proper foundation for the skills necessary to continue your life-long learning AND help to avoid frustration and possible injuries.

From the basic balance and control elements performed in Level 1, we will advance through specific skills such as hill fail turnarounds, off camber terrain management, loose hill starts, higher speed braking and swerving, harder accelerations and decelerations on loose surfaces and more. Terrain features unique to the venue may provide opportunity for additional exercises and will be taken into account as we finalize your class curriculum.  Rocks, logs, loose shale, gravel, sand and even mud can be addressed, depending on what the terrain has to offer.

All dual sport bikes are welcome from street legal dirt bikes to the larger ADV bikes.

My pledge to you as a Professional Traffic Safety and Off-Street Instructor, I am committed to Safety and Community.

With first-hand knowledge on just how important safety is in this sport, I want to share with you all the little things that you won’t get in a Basic Rider Course. Most riders who take the BRC don’t return for more training, let alone advanced training. There is so much to learn and, even if you take the BRC or a Level 1 ADV class, you will only retain about 60% of the information, at best. Then you will lose some of the 60% if you don’t practice the skills that were taught right away. The more time that passes, the more information and skills you lose. That is why we instructors want to encourage you take additional training and take it often. Seriously, you can take the same class four times, and learn something each time. Remember, you are only learning about 60% each time you go through training. The more you learn, the more you CAN learn. Each time you take a class, you have more bandwidth to learn something new. As an instructor, I can’t stress enough the importance of practicing the skills to keep you safe in this sport.  It could be the difference between having the best day of your life or the worst day ever!  The more you can master you bike, the safer you will be and the more FUN you’re going to have!

When it comes to the riding community, you won’t find a better way to meet your tribe than to connect with others who share your same passion of motorcycles and the adventures they can bring. I am committed to helping you achieve just that! Some of my best friends have come from trainings, events and tours just like the ones I offer here. And if I can’t help you, I am more than willing to get you in touch with someone who can. I am all about you getting the help, advice and support you need. I encourage you to get as much training you can from different schools and instructors. Instructors have different methods and everyone learns differently, so I encourage you to find those who can reach you the best and give you the most for your connections, trainings, practice sessions, and tours.  I am committed to mentoring you along the way well past the training sessions or tours that you take with me.

I am forever part of YOUR community and happy to help in any way I can.
