With much gratitude - The "A" Team of 2022

June 22-26, 2023 - Plain, WA

Join Lead Off-Street Instructor Shal Wilson and her team, for half day skill building sessions that will move you through your fears to mastering skills with finesse and confidence. Learn a commonsense approach to mastering your bike so you can manage the terrain you’ll encounter in the backcountry and become the rider you want to be.  We find that most riders benefit from taking the Level 1 class either as a first timer or using the class as a refresher.  Then we will kick it up a notch with the Level 2 classes.

BYOB…Bring your own Bike.  All sizes of off-street worthy motorcycles are welcome.

These classes are appropriate for beginner and intermediate off-street riders.

The line-up for the daily classes is listed below. For registeration, hit the “Book Now” button and be sure to let Shal know what classes you’re registering for. You’ll pay using either Venmo or Paypal.

Immersion Training 2-Day Tour

We will depart the rally grounds following the Sunday morning training session and take to one of the routes in the Leavenworth area for Immersion Training to be done along the way.  The tour will be self-supported. We will camp out on the route.

Since 2016, SheADV has been attending the Touratech Rally and offering multiple-day tours following the rally FREE of charge for any student who takes the SheADV training at the rally. It’s an opportunity for us to provide assistance as needed and to give back and support women riding in the backcountry. This is our gift to the women’s riding community.

All riders MUST have a bike capable of highway speeds and riders MUST be confident riding at the posted speed limits. All riders on this tour must also be confident riding on fire service roads at 20-35 mph.

First come, first served. Space is limited to 8 participants.

We look forward to riding with you!

WYBDR All Women Tour Aug. 27-Sept. 3, 2023

August 27 - September 3, 2023 - Savery, WY

I’ll be working with Pat Jacques of ADVWoman on another training and Backcountry Discovery Route Tour and this time… Drum roll… Wyoming!

This is a true backcountry experience as this route is very remote. We’ve gone out of our way to find the best lodging options available.  We have a delightful mixture of historic mining cabins and ranch homes; cabins on the Arkansas river, charming inns with homemade foods, and end our trip with a stay at Thermopolis Hot Springs!

Rider skill level required- Intermediate off-street skills.  This tour is open to large and small dual sport motorcycles.  All motorcycle must be street legal, capable of 65MPH and 150-mile fuel range.

Are you trying to grow the women’s segment to your event ? I can help! Whether you’re looking for women only training classes, co-ed classes or even a presenter, I’d love to attend and help bring in more women to your event!

2022 EVENTS

Moab Immersion Training Tour

May 14-20, 2022

As lead instructor and tour guide for MotoDiscovery, I will be kicking off the season with a Moab Immersion Training Tour. Future adventures to far corners of the world can start with MotoDiscovery!

3-Step Hideaway, the venue for much of the training, is remote, funky, simple yet perfectly accommodating with home cooked meals, rustic yet comfortable accommodations and views of the La Sals in one direction, and the mountains of Telluride in the other.

Moab is the center of outdoor adventure in this corner of the American Southwest. While here we urge you to enjoy the Canyonlands and Arches National Park, raft the beautiful Green River or ride the White Rim Trail. So much to do and see.

The confidence-building curriculum that I will be using is the Dragoo Adventure Rider Training (D.A.R.T.).

To celebrate your success in building your skills, we always have an off-road day of riding to get out and use your newly acquired talent. This day is always a highlight and never fails to inspire riders to further their adventures with MotoDiscovery.

2 Co-ed Classes!

First Level & NEXT LEVEL Adventure Rider Training w/Kandi Spangler

August 6-7, 2022

Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, CO

I am teaming up with Kandi Spangler for an awesome adventure rider training experience!

Tall or short, male or female; we’ve got you covered! Join us for this 2-day training event to take your riding skills to the NEXT LEVEL.

Limited Space Available, Reserve Your Spot Today!

"FIRST LEVEL" does not mean beginner or easy, it means we're going to really focus on mastering the basics of maneuvering in dirt. In the NEXT LEVEL training class, you can expect to re-review the basics of maneuvering in the dirt, but then we'll crank it up a few notches and equip you with the skills necessary to tackle more technical terrain.

This training will equip you with proper riding techniques suited for the terrain and challenges we face in real-world adventure riding.  We’ll review and expand on your existing braking skills, including braking and trail stops on a hill, learn hill re-start and hill rescue techniques, explore other intentional break-traction scenarios, and provide training and tips to turn tighter and with more control in level and off-camber environments.

While this is a “hands-on” clinic designed to help improve your skills while on your own bike, we’ll take time to explain each exercise and components in-detail and then demo the exercise before having you ride the exercise yourself.  This allows for both visual and audible learners to get as much as possible out of the training and ask questions even before riding the exercise.

This course will break down each skill into 3 major components: 1) Line Choice, 2) Body Position, and 3) Bike Control.  1) You’ll develop the skills and visual acuity to look and think ahead of the bike, searching for an appropriate line, clearing or avoiding obstacles, and averting emergencies if possible. 2) You’ll learn how to properly and fluidly position your body on and over the bike to maximize controllability. And 3) you’ll discover how to manipulate the bike’s controls (throttle, clutch, handlebars, suspension and brakes) to realize the bike’s full capability.  Together, these skills will improve your confidence, enhance your riding skills and help maximize your overall riding enjoyment!

$545        2 - 5 hour Days- Includes Thunder Valley Fees (on your own bike)
