Shal’s Motorcycle Adventure Rider Training
Increase your FUN FACTOR and SAFETY by learning to master your bike.
Don’t put up with riding errors!
Most riders don’t approach their riding improvement seriously enough. Get relentlessly focused on your riding! Don’t put up with riding errors, go beyond “good enough!” When you add speed to mistakes, you’re not just hitting a ball into the net. Mistakes in this sport can have grave consequences!
Riding well is the most wonderful feeling in the world! One of my goals is to help increase your FUN FACTOR and help you build your tool box of skills, both mentally and physically, to help make your street and adventure riding safer and a shit ton more FUN!
INVEST IN YOURSELF!
INVEST IN YOURSELF!
To obtain the level of skill needed to survive this sport, seek professional instruction. All too often, those who receive their training from family or friends learn improper riding techniques and behaviors, which often result in an accident, with possible injuries and/or damage to the bike and even death. Accidents can still happen even with proper training, as there are many variables to consider. The more knowledge, practice and training you have, the better! Remember, knowledge is only powerful if you use it.
To be proficient at anything, you must put in the time… 10,000 hours! And you don’t want all that time being spent doing it wrong.
Look at your career, how long did it take to get really good at what you do? Can you remember anything that you do and do well that did not take practice? Even for skills and talents that we are innately born with, we improve because of the consistency of repetition. Starting on a foundation and building on the skills we need in order to do the bigger, more advanced things, is the slow and steady journey of learning and it’s the best way to build on the skills for the long haul.. Motorcycling is a life-long learning process. Just remember to get feedback from a professional occasionally because that outside perspective is what will make you better.
TRAIN. RIDE. ADVENTURE.
“Comparison is the thief of joy” - Theodore Roosevelt
Your journey is your story and no one else’s. Put a small reminder on your bike to ride your own ride. Every time you look at it, ask yourself: Is this how I normally ride? Am I riding my own ride?
